(Year 6)

Class Teacher - Mrs Collyer

Christmas party time!

Oak Class held their own General Election on 17 December.  They formed 7 new political parties and asked Silver Birch class to vote for their favourite candidate.  The winning party, by an overwhelming majority, was the Life Care Party with their candidate Jonah elected as MP for Simmondley.

The other parties and candidates were:

Selixen Party - Ava

UP (United Public) Party - Amelia

PHRE (Police, Health Care, Racism, Environment) Party - Travis

Earth Party - Lilah

HELP (Homeless, Environment, Legal, Public Health) Party - Amber

Climate Kids Party - Luke

Silver Birch classroom was set up as a hustings where the candidates delivered their speeches to the voters. Both classes then went to Oak classroom which had been set up as a polling station by our Polling Station Team (Holly M, Madison, Mia and Ruby H). The team had also prepared signs, polling cards, polling booths, a ballot box and ballot papers.

The whole class worked really hard on this project - well done everyone!

We held a debate on whether or not the Parthenon should be built as part of our Ancient Greece topic.  Pericles (played by Travis) argued for and Thucydides (played by Daisy H) argued against.  Matthew chaired the debate and kept everyone in order!
